Conker’s Bad Fur Day is an action-platform video game developed and published by Rare, and distributed by Nintendo. It was exclusively released for the Nintendo 64 in 2001 and is Rare’s last game published for the console. Along with Resident Evil 2 and Pokémon Stadium 2, Conker’s Bad Fur Day is one of the few N64 games that features a 512Mb cartridge. A remake with enhanced graphics and a different multiplayer was exclusively released for the Xbox in 2005, titled Conker: Live & Reloaded.
The game stars Conker the Squirrel, a Rare character who had previously appeared in other games marketed towards children, such as Diddy Kong Racing, also for the Nintendo 64, and Conker’s Pocket Tales for the Game Boy Color. Marketed as a “Teen And Adult platform game”, Conker’s Bad Fur Day features graphic violence, sexual themes, toilet humor and several film parodies. Despite its limited advertising, the game received very positive critical reviews and earned a cult following.
